U.S. Wheat Associates is applauding USDA’s first wheat award under the Food for Peace program, with 20,000 metric tons of U.S. wheat designated for emergency feeding programs in East Africa. The organization said the shipment reinforces America’s role as both a global grain supplier and humanitarian partner. USDA also announced additional Food for Peace funding opportunities for feeding programs in Ethiopia, Haiti, Kenya and Rwanda.
