In the Red River Farm Network Crop Watch broadcast, Pioneer Field Agronomist Kevin Sinner said planting progress continues to show a sharp north-to-south divide. “I cover about Highway 10 all the way up to the Canadian border and around Highway 10 down by Lake Park, there’s some guys who are already wrapped up with corn and have really got a strong start on the beans,” said Sinner. “As you go north, especially north of Highway 2, some guys are just getting done with the small grains and starting to get into the corn.” Sinner said some growers are already questioning planting-depth decisions as windy conditions continue to dry soils.
