The U.S. Trade Representative’s Office hosted a four-day hearing into its Section 301 trade investigation with major trading partners, including China, the European Union and Mexico. Representatives from nearly 150 trade groups and companies from every sector of the economy are scheduled to testify. The American Soybean Association urged caution, saying a Section 301 investigation could negatively impact negotiations with China. The American Sugar Alliance also testified, saying action needs to be taken to protect U.S. sugar growers.
