North Dakota Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak says producers are encouraged by movement on the farm bill and growing momentum behind year-round E15. During recent roundtable discussions with members of the Farmers Union and Farm Bureau, Fedorchak says farmers emphasized the importance of expanded ethanol access. “Really heard a lot about the importance of and the eagerness for year-round E15,” Fedorchak said. She also highlighted improvements in crop insurance, reference prices, conservation programs, and trade expansion included in the House-passed bill. Fedorchak says lawmakers secured a standalone E15 vote. “We did get a commitment for a vote on May 13th when we are back in session, a standalone vote on E15,” she said. “We will be whipping the votes on the floor to have our very best chance of getting that measure passed through the House.”
