With the House farm bill complete, the attention now shifts to the Senate. North Dakota Senator John Hoeven wants to see agricultural assistance and year-round E15 included in that debate. “We also need to increase the funding for the Commodity Credit Corp, CCC, to make sure that we can fund ARC/PLC,” said Hoeven. “That’s what’s really going to kick in and help our farmers starting in October.” In the meantime, Hoeven is working on more farmer bridge assistance to help offset the high input costs. “Those are both going to need to be addressed, either in the farm bill or in the supplemental.” Hoeven said he wants the farm bill wrapped up before the August recess.
