Strong momentum continues across most commodity markets, according to Martinson Ag Risk Management President Randy Martinson. In this week’s edition of What’s Hot, What’s Not in the Markets, Martinson says a wide range of markets are hitting new highs, including grains, livestock, energy, and equities. Corn pushed above $5 at one point, soybean oil reached new contract highs, and cattle markets posted all-time highs last week. Outside markets are also contributing, with the S&P 500 and NASDAQ both trading at record levels, while crude oil remains firm. On the flip side, only a few markets are lagging. Gold has shown some weakness as money flows into other commodities, and lean hogs continue to face pressure. Click here to listen to this week’s report.
