USDA is contracting with a tech firm called Palantir for its IT modernization effort for $300 million. This includes the ‘One Farmer, One File’ initiative that unifies all FSA, NRCS and RMA systems and streamlines a farmer’s administrative dealings with USDA. Palantir has faced criticism for its relationship with the Trump Administration and the expansion of government surveillance using artificial intelligence.
