Researchers at North Dakota State University’s Agricultural Risk Policy Center found price increases due to California’s Prop 12 have continued two years after the law was implemented. California consumers have seen pork prices up an average of 20 percent compared to the rest of the country. The National Pork Producers Council had more than 100 producers on Capitol Hill this week, voicing their opposition to Prop 12. The NPPC wants this issue fixed in the upcoming farm bill debate.
