New data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers shows a slowdown in farm equipment sales across North America. U.S. tractor sales dropped 9.1 percent in March compared to a year ago, while combine sales fell 25.3 percent. In Canada, the decline was even steeper, with tractor sales down 16.3 percent and combines plunging more than 60 percent year-over-year. Industry analysts say the drop reflects ongoing softness in the farm economy.
