President Donald Trump hosted what he called “the single largest gathering of American farmers the White House has ever seen” on Friday during the Great American Agriculture Celebration, unveiling new policies aimed at strengthening the farm economy. Held on the South Lawn, the event drew hundreds of farmers, ranchers, and ag leaders, along with top officials, including Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins. The administration highlighted record-setting renewable fuel targets as the centerpiece of the announcement, finalizing the Renewable Fuel Standard “Set 2” rule with the highest biofuel blending requirements in the program’s history for 2026 and 2027. Rollins called the move a major win for agriculture. “Today’s announcement is truly historic for our nation’s farmers and energy producers,” she said, noting it could generate a $3 to $4 billion increase in net farm income and a $31 billion boost in corn and soybean oil demand. The EPA estimates the policy will contribute more than $10 billion to rural economies and support over 100,000 jobs nationwide.
