Nutrient enhancements are available to improve the return on the farmer’s fertilizer investment. Mosaic Biosciences has biologicals that fit that bill. “We have one product called Biopath that folks can mix with their liquid fertilizer, very simple to use, just dump it in the tank with your liquid fertilizer,” said Mosaic Technical Sales Manager Sherry Koch. “And we have another product called Powercoat, and we utilize that with our dry fertilizer. You impregnate it, just like you would with any other enhancer.” According to Koch, these products go on the fertilizer in a dormant form. “A lot of guys will ask how do you put this on a salty fertilizer? They’re dormant, so when they hit that soil profile, they hit the moisture, they become activ. It helps make those nutrients more available, whether it’s on the fertilizer or it’s nutrients that are already tied up in that soil profile.”
