To support the movement of energy and agricultural products, the White House may waive the Jones Act for a limited time. The Jones Act requires shipments between U.S. ports be on ships that are U.S. built, U.S. flagged and U.S. owned, limiting the number of tankers available for domestic shipments. The American Farm Bureau Federation made this request in a letter sent to President Trump earlier this week.
