A coalition of agriculture, consumer and faith-based groups has sent a letter to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer seeking mandatory country-of-origin labeling when the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement is reviewed. They claim increased transparency will result in fairer prices for cattle producers. The national groups signing off on the letter include the National Farmers Union, R-CALF and Food & Water Watch. Dakota Resource Council, Dakota Rural Action and the Land Stewardship Project are the regional groups listed as supporters.
