A North Dakota district judge has delivered a blow to Summit Carbon Solutions and its carbon sequestration project in the state. The North Dakota Industrial Commission approved permits for the project in 2024, but the court ruled the decision is unconstitutional. This $8 billion project would have taken carbon dioxide emissions from ethanol plants across the Midwest and stored them underground in North Dakota.
