White mold was a big issue in soybeans and dry edible beans this past year and could be an issue again in 2026. That’s BASF Product Manager Erik Garcia. A new tool, Zorinia fungicide, will be available to control white mold this year. It can be used in soybeans, dry beans and canola, but a proactive approach is necessary. “The best analogy I like to make is sunscreen, right? It makes no sense to apply sunscreen after you’ve been out in the sun and exposed,” said Erik Garcia, product manager, BASF. “The best application of sunscreen is prior to getting out there. With Zorina to truly control white mold, we’re looking at those proactive applications versus reactive when we’re already losing yield and bushels to white mold.” Supplies are adequate, but with the white mold pressure in 2025, Garcia is seeing a run on Zorina fungicide.
