U.S. officials are reportedly considering asking China to reduce purchases of Russian and Iranian oil, while also encouraging Beijing to increase imports of American products including soybeans and Boeing aircraft. China currently relies heavily on discounted crude from Russia and other suppliers, meaning shifting away from those sources would be a major change for Beijing. At the same time, Chinese leaders are expected to push for lower U.S. tariffs and fewer restrictions on technology exports.
