USDA has launched the ‘Farmer and Rancher Freedom Framework.’ In a statement, USDA said it formalizes the Department’s work to eliminate systemic agricultural lawfare and restore fairness to Rural America. In the Lonesome Lands podcast, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the private property rights battle is extremely complicated. “It’s not one governing entity, it’s not just Washington, right? It’s not just the local government; it’s all-encompassing.” She cited the Maude family of South Dakota. “The Maude’s almost went to prison because the USDA Forest Service under Joe Biden got in an argument with him about their fence line. That’s insane.” The agricultural lawfare plan includes four pillars: protecting farmers and ranchers from politically motivated enforcement actions and safeguarding farmland from unnecessary federal projects and eminent domain.
