A new soybean variety from NDSU Extension received much discussion at this year’s Best of the Best in Wheat and Soybean Research at Moorhead. ND-2501 brings together several traits growers have been asking for, especially as disease pressure and yield expectations continue to rise across North Dakota. Assistant Professor of Plant Sciences Carrie Dottey said the new variety will hopefully be ready for this growing season. “It has an Iron Deficiency Chlorosis tolerance of about 2.3, so that, combined with Soybean Cyst Nematode tolerance, that’s actually pretty unique.” Early trial results offer a positive yield story. “We’re really optimistic.”
