2025 was another big year for canola in North Dakota. “We’re a bit surprised to see these really good yields for canola all across the state,” said Northern Canola Growers Association Executive Director Barry Coleman. “USDA says we had a 2,100-pound average in the state, which is a record for North Dakota.” All this was achieved on fewer acres than 2024. Coleman thinks there’s even more room for growth, especially in the northwestern and southwestern parts of the state.
