Dean Aakre Passes

Funeral services were held over the weekend for a longtime North Dakota 4-H youth specialist. Dean Aacre passed away on January 26 after a courageous battle with metastatic esophageal cancer. Aarke retired in 2022 after 39 years in the state 4-H office. During his career, Aakre was named to the North Dakota 4-H Hall of Fame, received the NDSU AGSCO Excellence in Extension Award, the University of Minnesota-Crookston Outstanding Alumni Award and numerous other honors.
