NDSU Extension Livestock Systems Specialist Karl Hoppe recommends taking extra time to care for your cattle during extreme cold. “The main thing you’ve got to look out for is to make sure there’s adequate bedding and windbreak protection and then of course keep your waterers from being frozen.” Having feed readily available is also important for regulating cattle’s body temperature.
