No Additional Aid, No E15

The House is expected to vote on a rule today, allowing the final package of spending bills to come to the floor. To the disappointment of many in farm country, the final language does not include additional farm assistance or a provision allowing year-round use of E15. A group of farm state lawmakers and ag groups met with Speaker Mike Johnson on Wednesday, but got no commitments. White House and congressional leaders said a supplemental appropriations bill may be the next opportunity to move the agriculture legislation.
