The first sale of the year is often a big one for Napoleon Livestock and Co-Owner Jim Bitz says this year was no different. “We ended up with like 6,200 head last week and the market was strong from beginning to end. Pretty much all new record highs for our sale barn here on that first sale of the year.” Bitz expects the cattle market to remain hot through the winter. “I look for this market to be fairly strong throughout the winter and spring. I think they say that we’re bulletproof, not bombproof, and I think we’re bulletproof because of the fundamentals where we’re at. Cheap feed and low cattle numbers.”
