According to USDA’s January crop production report, the Upper Midwest enjoyed record corn yields this past year. Minnesota yields are projected at an average of 201 bushels per acre, up from 193 in November. North Dakota’s corn yield is now estimated at 158 bushels per acre, a significant jump from 146 bushels per acre in November’s report. South Dakota’s average yield dropped from 173 bushels per acre to 171 bushels per acre, but it is still record high.
