Total Farm Marketing Senior Advisor Naomi Blohm describing the latest crop report as broadly bearish for corn, soybeans, and wheat. “The one thing about the January report is that you’re always going to get a huge surprise, either really bullish or really bearish, and this surprise was that the whole thing was bearish,” Blohm said. She noted USDA raised corn yield to 186.5 bushels per acre and boosted planted and harvested acres, pushing production to a record 17 billion bushels.
