Part of preparing for the next growing season is soil sampling. Soil Health Institute Program Director and Research Soil Scientist Jason Ackerson says soil sampling tests can be expensive, depending on the test and the area being tested, but there are options available that are both affordable and scalable. “We need to focus on tools that can get us measurements that are usable and also cost effective.” Chief Scientific Officer Cristine Morgan says communication is key when sharing and reporting soil sampling data. “Meaning that outside of science, outside of our bubble of soil health, the information needs to be understandable, actionable, and credible.”
