With new technology, individuals who can install and maintain digital systems within precision agriculture are in high demand. The University of Illinois has published a study on the demand for farm service technicians. With high adoption rates in the region, the study found North Dakota and South Dakota have the highest average wages for these workers. Minnesota is in the middle of the pack nationally for the precision ag technician wage rates.
