Minnesota Governor Tim Walz is not seeking reelection. Walz indicated in September that he would seek an unprecedented third term, but allegations of Medicare and daycare fraud have been a constant drumbeat in recent weeks. Walz released a statement, saying fraud cannot be tolerated, but said President Trump and his allies are opportunists who are willing to hurt Minnesotans to score political points. After consulting with his family over the holidays, Walz said he “decided to step out of the race and let others worry about the election while I focus on the work.”
