Farm groups are praising the Trump administration’s new bridge payment program, designed to provide immediate support for U.S. farmers facing rising input costs and market disruptions. The National Association of Wheat Growers says the program will help wheat farmers navigate another challenging year. NAWG President Pat Clements welcomed the program’s simplicity for implementation through the FSA. National Corn Growers Association President Jed Bower said corn farmers appreciate the assistance but emphasized that longer-term market solutions are also needed. Bower urged Congress to pass the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act of 2025 to expand year-round E15, increase demand for corn. American Soybean Association President Caleb Ragland called the bridge payment a positive first step to help soybean growers cover carried debt from the 2025 season. He also encouraged Congress and the administration to advance long-term, market-driven policies that strengthen demand for U.S. soy and support farmers as they plan for 2026.
