Minnesota cattle producers met for two days of policy work and market outlook discussions at the Minnesota Cattlemen’s Association annual convention in St. Cloud. “You know, you have got a few comments, a couple of tweets, a few meetings; a plant talked about closing, and we see all this volatility,” said Jake Thompson, MSCA president. The extreme price swings have many producers hesitant to rebuild herds, even with recent market strength. “If you did not have high blood pressure, you have it now,” said Thompson. “We just want the opportunity to let the market do what it needs to do and hopefully have an opportunity to make some money and just stay a little consistent in it.”
