During the North Dakota Agricultural Association Agribusiness Expo, farmers and ag retailers shifted their attention to the 2026 crop year. “Weed resistance is top of mind again this year,” said Gowan Northern Plains Sales Representative Marsha Van Laere. “We saw quite a few issues with wild oats last year, coming through some of those post chemicals, kochia coming through, pigweed coming through.” Van Laere is hoping growers make responsible decisions with their pre’s. “The pre’s won’t fix the problem, but it will mitigate the problem.” Weed control was a big part of the conversation at the expo Thursday, with the pesticide recertification training on the schedule.
