The farm economy and mental health were top of mind at this year’s Minnesota Farmers Union convention. “Right now, we’re having a bit of a crisis with the low margins, so mental health was definitely a big issue that was raised,” explained MFU President Gary Wertish. “We’re encouraging elected officials to take swift, meaningful action to address the crisis in farm country and to make long-term systemic reforms that ensure a farm economy that is stable, resilient, and distributed and fair.”
