Shareholders OK UP-NS Rail Merger

Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern shareholders have approved their merger. The new rail entity will control 40-to-45 percent of the U.S. freight rail traffic. A Surface Transportation Board decision on the merger is expected to be made in 2027.
