Pioneer Field Agronomist Larry Lunder says October moisture slowed progress, but conditions have since improved. Yields are solid for both corn and sunflowers. Lunder reports sunflower yields ranging from 2,000 to nearly 3,000 pounds per acre, calling it a “strong yield on a commodity that’s decently priced.” Corn yields have been steady, though early frost took top-end potential from certain fields.
