No Border Opening Yet

A date has not been set for the reopening of the border to Mexican cattle imports. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins and her Mexican counterpart met by video conference about New World Screwworm and the border. The two agreed to a new method to increase sterile fly production, to reduce the fly population over time. With the help of a $21 million investment by the U.S., Mexico is also building a sterile fly plant to address New World Screwworm.
