Ahead of the Thursday meeting between President Trump and Chinese President Xi, China purchased three cargoes of U.S. soybeans. State-owned COFCO booked 180,000 metric tons of soybeans for December and January shipment. These beans are expected to move through the Pacific Northwest. China has been absent from the U.S. market for much of the past year in a dispute over tariffs.
