Frost and Rain Slow Sugarbeet Harvest, Progress at 80%

Red River Valley Sugarbeet Growers Association Executive Director Harrison Weber says harvest progress has slowed due to recent frost and rain, but is still moving forward. “We’re 80 percent done at American Crystal, and we’ve certainly faced all kinds of challenges from a delayed start with excessive heat, and then even a couple of frosty nights. I think this last 20 percent is going to be a little bit of a battle to get in for guys.”
