Despite weather-related delays, Carl Hoverson, a farmer in the Larimore, North Dakota area, says the overall potato crop quality was good. “A lot of hot weather, so we had to wait a lot of days. Most days we worked this year were all half days. We started at four in the morning, and we usually worked till noon and stopped until the next day. It got to be a real long harvest.” Hoverson says it was a beautiful crop. “Because they’re in the ground longer, they all got a good size; we’re going to have a nice product to sell this winter.”
