During President Trump’s Cabinet meeting, Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said these are uncertain times for the U.S. farm economy. She blamed the $50 billion agricultural trade deficit inherited from the Biden Administration and high input costs.”The President has committed, if we need a bridge, to get us from the Biden years to the new Trump era,” said Rollins. “That’s what we’re working on every day, we’ve got to get the government reopened so that we can move forward on that.” The USDA leader also spoke about the importance of a long-term view. “We have to change this hamster wheel of government; we’ve got to ensure that the farmers have the market to sell.”
