Harvest has stalled in the Devils Lake region after an inch-and-a-half rain hit the region over the weekend. Rock and Roll Agronomy owner Jason Hanson says frost damage also caused some setbacks. “We experienced some rejection of dry beans due to the frost back in September, which affected the quality so I got some dry beans that aren’t making grade.” Hanson says canola has been a bright spot, but soybean yields are falling short of expectations. “Canola was good. I mean, we had stuff that was 2,500 to 2,800-pound canola. Our soybeans have looked much better than what they’re turning out to be. I got some guys that had hail; those ended up running 30 bushels per acre.”
