National Teach Ag Day is an opportunity to acknowledge the vital role of agricultural education and the teachers who make it possible. Minnesota Agricultural Education Leadership Council Executive Director Sarah Dornink says there is a shortage of qualified ag educators. “This year, we have six programs that don’t have a teacher at all. We have eight schools that are still looking for teachers. We have schools that just cut the teaching position because they knew they couldn’t find someone. We had schools that were starting to build up to three teachers, but some of them are back down to one.” National Teach Ag Day was on Thursday.
