The former North Dakota State University Extension swine specialist has been named as the new CEO of the National Pork Board. Dr. David Newman spent five years in that role at NDSU from 2010-to-2015. After time at Arkansas State University, Newman joined the National Pork Board as its senior vice president of market growth in 2023. Newman also served two terms as the president of the pork checkoff board and was a member of the U.S. Meat Export Federation executive committee. Former National Pork Board CEO Bill Even stepped down in April and was later named commissioner for the South Dakota Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
