Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar Cooperative plans to begin pre-pile on Tuesday and the slice on Wednesday. “We are looking at pre-pile on the second and starting slice on the third. Right now, all the samples we’ve pulled show that we have a 27-ton to the acre crop, which is right dead in the middle of the 10-year average,” said Jerry Trotter, vice president of agriculture. “For both sugar content and tonnage, it’ll be an average crop for us.”
