North Dakota’s Barnes County has seen its share of weather challenges this season. A late June tornado was devastating, especially in areas north of the interstate. On the RRFN Crop Tour presented by Pioneer, Spring Creek Ag’s Ron Truax said soybeans looked tough with the cold May rain and stressful conditions in July. “Yet, in the last few weeks, this bean crop has come around.” The Granular Insights yield estimator app read 219 bushels per acre for the new P88044 hybrid. “The free app is a great tool,” said Truax. “You can do yield estimating and adjust for population and kernel size.” Spring Creek Ag is located at Litchville, North Dakota.
