Zaner Ag Hedge Chief Market Analyst Karen Braun has been a part of the Pro Farmer Crop Tour for a dozen years. “This is the big story, of course, this year was USDA coming out with 188.8 (bushel per acre average corn yield estimate) and 53.6 (bushels per acre) on the beans,” Braun told RRFN. The USDA discontinued its objective yield surveys in August 2019. That has ramped up the value of the Pro Farmer Crop Tour because it is the first widespread in-the-field collection of data heading into the harvest season.
