YouTube sensation Zach Johnson moderated a session on artificial intelligence and agriculture during Farmfest. Ahead of the event, the west-central Minnesota farmer went to social media and asked for input. Johnson said the biggest concern from his audience was about people being replaced by autonomous tractors. “My opinion on that is, if you want to drive the machinery, you can,” said Johnson. “I’ve seen the autonomous tractors, and you can stay in that tractor and drive that tractor as though it’s a normal tractor.”Autonomous technology will allow farmers to multitask.”It’s going to be a great tool to have two, three, four machines out there working or you can sit in one tractor and maybe have another one going in the same field. That AI one is going to be trained to follow what you do; you can just cover twice the ground.”
