Deputy Agriculture Secretary Stephen Vaden made two stops in the Midwest this past week; Farmfest near Redwood Falls, Minnesota and the Sweetner Symposium in Traverse City, Michigan. The potential impact of the Make America Healthy Again initiative was a topic at both events. “Ag is being heard,” Vaden told RRFN. “I understand very much the consternation with that first report, but after that report, many ag groups, including our friends at the International Sweetners Association, had meetings at the White House with the MAHA Commission. I think the Commission listened and took what was said to heart and when the second commission report comes out later this month, I think ag will see they were listened to.” In the RRFN interview, Vaden also discussed the Trump tariff strategy and the USDA reorganization plan.
