With tighter margins in agriculture, AgroLiquid Great Plains Regional Agronomist Reid Abbott says it’s more important than ever for farmers to build crop nutrition plans on solid data. At the Ag PhD Field Day, Abbott emphasized the value of soil sampling to guide fertility decisions and avoid unnecessary costs. “We’ve got an extensive product line here at AgroLiquid, a lot of great technology, but we don’t want guys to spend money that they don’t need to be spending and not get into ROI.” Abbott also stressed the importance of consistent nutrition throughout the season, especially for corn. “Grain fill is just as important as getting that plant initially started and so we want to make sure that there isn’t a time in the day or a time in that growing season where that plant is looking or deficient in any one of our nutrients,” said Abbott. “Making sure that we put that product out there and that it gets a good, even consistent feeding throughout the season is very important.”
