BNSF Railway has announced its corn rail tariff rates for the 2025-2026 shipping season. According to the USDA Grain Transportation Report, corn tariff rates to the Pacific Northwest will remain unchanged. The rates to the cattle feedlots in the Texas Panhandle are down $200 per car for the 115 northern elevators in North Dakota, Minnesota and South Dakota. The report said some of the largest increases in planted corn acreage happened in the Dakotas, which could translate into the BNSF moving more bushels to the PNW.
