In addition to wheat, the pulse crop harvest is happening in parts of the Northern Plains. Custom harvester Stefanu Schmidt recently relocated his crew to Havre, Montana. “We were reading anything up to like 30 bushel lentils so, yeah, we’re really pleased with what we’re seeing.” Before arriving in Montana, Schmidt’s crew had a successful run in Colorado. “Colorado seemed good for us. I think we were hitting anything from a 50 bushel crop down there and upwards.” Up next is the Williston and Crosby region of North Dakota.
